Things to do

We want you to have a memorable stay at the Lion’s Den. Whether you choose to spend most of your time just relaxing on the Ranch or plan to keep a busy schedule filled with activities, there are lots of options available to make sure you have a wonderful time during your visit.

Because of its location near the Mosquito Mountain Range Fairplay offers great opportunities for all types of hiking: from short and easy, all the way up to climbing 14-ers.

For those who like fly fishing: Park County is one of the best places to find trout in Colorado and Fairplay is known as The Trout Capital of Colorado.

If you come in the summer time and like some action, there are many companies who offer whitewater rafting trips on the Arkansas river.

If you come in the winter time you can brave the ski slopes in the nearby ski resorts of Breckenridge, Keystone, or Monarch.

And no matter what time of the year you spend in Fairplay, there are beautiful day trips to be made to historic towns like South Park City, Alma, Buena Vista, Salida, Pagosa Springs, Twin Lakes, Leadville, etc…
